The pirate in real life is truly a writers dream come true. Trouble on the high seas, treasure, tons of rats mixed with poor quality food, hired by Royalty, and a kick-ass flag. Readers sometimes only want the “Arrr’s” an eye patch, hook for a right hand, and a peg leg. So writers give in to their demands and fail to break the mold. Or do they?
